I wouldn't have an issue with it.. I could see it going either way.. especially because Bryz sucks and won't be able to win it all himself. Maybe Mason can? LOL

Seriously, need the 2 pts though from a desperate Winnipeg team so I wouldn't be surprised to see Bryz.

I was praying that the Rags would lose in reg last night.. The scoreboard watching is about as crazy as I can remember it.. We need Toronto, Tampa, Carolina and Florida to all win in Regulation along with a win in Reg for us.. wow..

I think Laviolette has adjusted his system due to the team playing with four 6/7 defensemen in the lineup. He had no other choice to play a somewhat conservative style due to the players not having the talent to play the system he employs. Laviolette trusts players like Coburn, and Meszaros to be able to execute what he asks, their awful performance was a big reason for the teams struggles.

The trade for Mason is somewhat ridiculous. Although nothing of merit was given up, this trade was made by in large because Holmgren failed miserably adding a backup goaltender before the season. Part of the reason for trading Bobrovsky was him having to large of a cap hit for a backup goaltender. Now they trade for Bobrovsky's backup who has a larger cap hit. Not to mention he's been a terrible goaltender for the last 3 years.
After this season they can buy out Bryzgalov make Mason the starter, and bring Leighton back as the backup. Goaltending situation solved!!!!!

Nice to see the compete level of the team at a very high level playing with a depleted lineup. Very good work ethic being show by everyone, which is a good sign. Unfortunately the net result will likely be a draft pick outside the top 10.

Nice first game for Rosehill. Concussing Lupul, handling Orr, and scoring the gwg. More impact in one game, than Shelley made in his Flyers career.

All we can do is win as many games to finish the season as we can. If it's not enough to make it in, our first half of the season is to blame. No excuses. Injuries, compressed schedule, systems, whatever else we could put blame on, it doesn't matter.

I am jsut not the type of person that can ever cheer for the team to roll over and die.. even if we get massacred first round.. I'd want the team to make it simply for the experience for the kids..

Someone asked yesterday when has Reese ever helped a tender play better.. I laughed at how people forgot his work with Leighton.. Also, Bob came along quite well here. I think Reese will work hard with Mason.. it seems that it's not a physical thing but a mental confidence thing..

speaking of zach redmond being out, yardbarker just posted an article about his recovery from the skate blade to his leg. They also have a picture of the scar. amazing that he is still alive.

If Timonen can't go, Foster is in. That would elevate Gervais up to the # 2 dman.

The biggest system change is instilling a sense of entitlement within the opponent. It's worked so far

it really does seem inevitable that bryz will be bought out after this season or next. i posted yesterday that it's hard to make a cogent argument that bryz has been any better here than biron circa '09 and that's pretty avg overall...or below.

the only thing i can say about mason is that i have a little more confidence that he can win a game than the 2 alternatives we had at b/u. zipping out at warp speed to sign leighton as our b/u was a self inflicted wound.

good on homer for not pulling the trigger on anything on our young core plyrs at the TDL. while he'll have some tough decisions to make w/ them over the summer, at least he didn't fall into that trap.
